Impact

United Way of the Great River Region partners with area nonprofits to impact lives in the tri-state area. Each year, we ask funded partners to provide information about who they have helped and how programs or services have benefitted from United Way funds. Funded partners submit reports to make sure dollars are helping with our 3 priorities:

2023 Funded initiatives:

  • Literacy programs in 4 elementary schools
  • Drug prevention programs in schools and juvenile detention
  • Scholarships for scouting and leadership development for girls and boys
  • Parenting and child abuse prevention education
  • Summer reading program
  • Preschool education
  • Backpack and school supplies for the start of the school year
  • Supplies for daycare center care and activities
  • Test kitchen culinary skills and SAT prep help
  • Meals for seniors
  • Advocacy for children in abuse and neglect cases
  • Summer youth baseball
  • Medical expenses and exams for students
  • Weekend food backpack program for students to address food insecurity
  • Food distribution and food pantry services
  • Exercise program for seniors
  • Multi-sensory programs for adults with dementia
  • Utility assistance
  • Employment services for adults with developmental disabilities
  • Homeless shelter and services
  • Tax assistance program
