United Way of the Great River Region Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
As a human services organization that strives to address community needs and maintain quality service to our donors, partner agencies, and clients, the United Way of the Great River Region (UWGRR) places high value on the concept of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
UWGRR is opposed to any form of racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, or other minority discriminations. UWGRR values the uniqueness of the individual, the power of the collective good, and the importance of communities. We promote a climate that welcomes, understands, and respects the diversity of our clients, donors, staff, volunteers, agencies, and community partners. We expect and will advocate for equal treatment to every person under the law. Dimensions of diversity include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, genetic information, and/or physical, mental, or other disability.
UWGRR is committed to incorporating practices that enhance diversity for all people in all areas of activity. We will serve our community with respect, value, and equality for all people. This includes our support, financial or otherwise, to community partners as well as the recruitment and retention of staff and volunteers from diverse backgrounds. We will strive to include and empower those in our service area who have been systemically excluded and historically marginalized.
